Photo 2: The Close Up/ Head Shot

Again, if a guy can’t see your face he’ll assume the worst.

Wear a color close to your face that goes well with your skin tone (nothing that washes you out.)

Keep makeup to a natural and fresh look (sometimes it takes a lot of makeup to attain a fresh look- but don’t overdo it.)

A “close shot” creates a feeling of intimacy and “being in your space.”

Close Up Pose Options

Straight ahead

Straight At The Camera…

  • Can be intense or inviting (or both.)
  • Creates a feeling of “knowing you.”
  • “Eyes are the windows to the soul.” What does your soul say?

Off-camera

Looking Off Camera

  • Fun. Flirty. A bit coy. (Flirty without flirting with HIM.)
  • Creates curiosity.

Bad idea.

Careful with the “Bedroom Eyes”…

  • Sends a jolt directly to his…
  • Same with the pursed lips. Too sexy.
  • Remember: A little sexy goes a LONG way in a guy’s imagination.

The “Magnetic” Smile

  • Unless you’re a Goth looking for Goths, you want to look HAPPYand FUN in your profile pics.
  • A great profile smile is a confident, content and happy profile smile… with a little bit of mystery behind the eyes.
  • Think about your proudest, happiest moment and your face will automatically form into a great smile. Don’t try to control your muscles, just think of your best moment.

Take a bunch of shots. Have fun. Tell jokes. Even if it takes 50 bad shots to get a good one… you’ve still got a good one!

Quick Fix Tip: If you’ve got a temporary blemish that’s ruining an otherwise great picture, try a quick photo touch-up.

Just like makeup, it’s very easy to go overboard. So remember – less is more.
