How To Judge Men’s Profiles or What They Say To You Online

If You Followed Our Profile Formula You’ve Got a Profile that…

  • Oozes confidence.
  • Comes across as happy, optimistic and fun to hang out.
  • Talks about how wonderful you are with no “Wigwam” words.
  • Shows good (but accurate) pictures of who you are and what you look like.
  • Shows that you’re not a potential “victim.”
  • Lays out what kind of guy should get in touch (and what kind of guy should jump off a bridge.)

If we’ve done our job right you’re going to start getting a bunch of emails and you’re going ot have to learn how to sort those emails quickly.

The Level 1 Filter…

  • If a guy goes “sexy” in the first message, just block him.
  • If a guy seems like a scammer (see earlier module) block him.
  • If a guy obviously didn’t read your profile or answer the question you put in your profile, don’t respond to him.
  • If a guy ever sends a message that is insulting, misogynistic or otherwise hateful, block him.

A quick note on blocking and “online politeness.”

You don’t owe a guy on an online dating site a message back.

Yes, this might make a nice guy sad, but like I always say “Often times the cruelest thing you can do is try to be kind.”

Much like being a public figure, putting yourself online means having a thicker skin.

“For you to insult me I’d have to value your opinion first.”

The silent treatment once you’re actually dating a guy is cowardly, but at this phase of online dating it’s the best policy.

Level 2 Filter: Warning Signs On A Guy’s Profile…

  • Pictures of himself with other women. (Read the captions.)
  • Shirtless pictures with his guitar. (Seriously.)
  • Badly lit pictures. Inability to write in complete sentences. Obviously didn’t put any real work into his profile.

Level 3 Filter: Does He Start A Conversation With You Or Just Make a Statement with Nowhere to go?

Conversation opener: “I see you’re a fan of Douglas Addams. Did you like ‘Dirk Gently’ or ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide’ better?”

Conversation staller: “You’ve got nice eyes.”

Just because a guy writes you with a conversation staller doesn’t mean he’s not worth your time, but you should reward the guy who actually did the work to read your profile and say something relevant.
